B.Sc.PT, Cert of Med Acup., Clinic Owner

Neil Hergott

At Okotoks Physical Therapy, Neil encourages and motivates his clients to take an active role in their treatment. Treatment in the clinic is provided to help alleviate symptoms that a client may be experiencing after injury or surgery, but the greatest effect on rehabilitation and recovery comes from the exercises and activities that Neil provides for his clients to perform at home.

Neil’s passion for athletics naturally led him into physiotherapy and Sports Medicine. He has spent over 30 years helping individuals and athletes with injury prevention and recovery. He has been the physiotherapist for the Calgary Roughnecks Professional Lacrosse team for over a decade and volunteered as the physiotherapist with the Holy Trinity Academy Knights football team, in Okotoks. This extensive experience with lacrosse and football has provided Neil with a wealth of knowledge of sport related injuries.

Neil graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Physiotherapy from University of Alberta in 1987. Throughout his career, Neil has advanced his education with a variety of courses, most recently completing courses that focus on shoulder rehabilitation and temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. Neil has obtained certification in acupuncture and functional dry needling and completed the Part A manual therapy levels through the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He continues to review current research to ensure the advice he provides is current and evidence based. He has served on the boards of the Alberta Physiotherapy Association, Calgary Health Region and the local Foothills Country Hospice.

Neil has been a part of the Okotoks community since 1994. He enjoys the outdoor activities the region has to offer, including running, golfing and fly fishing. Neil is married and has three children, who he hopes will always love to travel home for the holidays!

Ashley Humphrey

Recreational exercise is an important aspect of Ashley’s life, and it has naturally led her to a fulfilling career in physiotherapy. She spent the first decade of her profession in a rural hospital setting and, as she worked with patients striving to be discharged from the hospital, she gained valuable experience with difficult orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and a variety of complex and chronic medical conditions.

At Okotoks Physical Therapy, Ashley focuses on helping clients return to the activities that they enjoy, and she understands that the body requires activity to stay healthy and pain free. Ashley recognizes that recovery from a surgery or injury requires hard work, perseverance, and patience, but she also knows that the journey is worth the effort. Ashley strives to help her clients understand their injury, and she provides individualized guidance and encouragement to her clients throughout their rehabilitation and recovery.

Ashley graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2004, and she completed her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2008. Furthermore, she has completed post-graduate education courses in manual therapy techniques and vestibular rehabilitation, and has obtained certification to perform acupuncture and dry needling. Ashley has also become a certified instructor for the GLA:D Canada program in order to offer classes to clients with osteoarthritis.

Ashley enjoys living in Okotoks with her husband and two girls. They love going to the pool, riding bikes, skiing, and exploring the Sheep River pathways, although they also love cuddling up for family movie night.
